Oleificio R.M. has been producing exquisite olive oil for four generations; a perfect balance between traditional techniques and new technologies
The company was founded in 1901 by Cesare Taddeucci, grandfather of the present owners, Cesare and Umberto Rocchi. From the outset, Cesare Taddeucci was involved in every aspect of the business; researching and developing the cultivation and care of the trees through to the pressing and bottling of the olive oil. Due to this care and attention his products became synonymous with quality and excellence in Lucca and environs.
When Mario Rocchi took over the company, he brought in a rapid expansion and a wide recognition of the brand with modern production methods, a more efficient logistics plan and a streamlining of the company itself.
The helm was then taken by Cesare and Umberto Rocchi who have exported their products all over the world. The increase in turnover has meant a modernisation of the business but it is still run as a family business, able to amalgamate both innovation and tradition.
Cesare and Umberto continue the long tradition of being involved at all levels of production, from selecting the best olives to tasting and following the process to achieve the perfect olive oil.
They are well aware that the consumer will continue purchasing an olive oil after having tasted it first, returning to such a product thanks to its quality. Massimo, Umberto's son, was awarded the diploma of mastro oleario (olive oil expert) in 1992 and Francesca, his daughter, tastes all the oil produced and often follows him to the presses to select the finest oils. |
